"Mizrach" is the Hebrew word for "east." A mizrach is a piece of Judaic art that hangs on the eastern wall to point us towards Jerusalem. These pieces are one of a kind and are made of cotton fabrics collaged and stitched to represent the sun rising in the east over the Judean hills. The cycle of the year is depicted in the colors of its foliage. The words from Ecclesiastes..."To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose unter heaven." appear on the quilt in English and Hebrew. Each piece is a little different. Let us choose one for you.

A hamsa - from the semitic root meaning "five" is an old and still popular amulet for protection from the envious or evil eye.  In modern times, hamsas have become popular as good luck charms without overt magical significance.
